The American Heart Association’s BLS course (also known as the BLS Provider course) trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. The course reflects the most up-to-date science and education from the American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take BLS?

The American Heart Association’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

100% in-classroom training means students are with an AHA Instructor for their entire learning experience. Upon completion of all course requirements, participants receive a BLS Provider Course Completion Card which is valid for two years.

Textbook: You must have an AHA BLS Provider Manual or eBook for the class you are taking that is up to date with the current AHA guidelines being taught. Your AHA BLS Provider Manual eBook is not included in your registration fee. You may purchase your AHA BLS Provider Manual eBook from us when you complete your registration.
