Mark L. Hughes, MBA, BSN, RN

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mark has executive oversight of business operations, along with the sales, marketing, and business development initiatives of Go Life Savers, LLC. He has been a certified instructor since 2001. Some of his roles include Training Center Faculty, Licensed BLS CPR AED First Aid Training Provider, and Instructor Trainer.

Mark earned his MBA degree at the Forbes School of Business and Technology® at Ashford University now the University of Arizona Global Campus, his BSN degree at Union University, and a BS in Physical Education and Management while attending the University of Rio Grande and Malone University.

Michele L. Hughes, M.Ed.

Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Michele has executive oversight of training center operations. She has been an educator/certified instructor since 1991. Some of her roles include Licensed BLS CPR AED First Aid Training Provider, Lead Instructor, Training/Education Consultant, and Social Media Specialist.

Michele earned her M.Ed. degree at Union University and her BS in Education while attending the University of Rio Grande. Michele is a three-time best-selling author.

Mission of the American Heart Association

The American Heart Association’s Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Programs deliver a dynamic message of hope — the hope of saving lives. New treatments have improved the possibility of survival from cardiovascular emergencies, cardiac arrest, and stroke. These new treatments offer the hope of improved quality of life for people who suffer these events.

Increasing public awareness of the importance of early intervention and ensuring greater public access to defibrillation will save many lives. ECC programs train more than 12 million people every year by educating healthcare providers, caregivers, and the general public on how to respond to these emergencies.

ECC Mission

The ECC Programs Department is responsible for implementing program initiatives, and providing guidance and support to the ECC Training Network. The ECC Mission supports this responsibility.

The Mission of the American Heart Association’s ECC Program is to reduce disability and death from acute circulatory and respiratory emergencies, including stroke, by improving the chain of survival in every community and in every health care system.
